Course overview

The opioid drug abuse epidemic is having devastating consequences on public health in the United States. Overdose deaths involving opioids have increased fivefold since 1999. In 2016 opioid overdoses killed more than forty two thousand people, or more than six times the total number of U.S. military service members killed in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The purpose of this comprehensive, 10 hour seminar is to enhance the Doctor of Chiropractic's knowledge of the signs and symptoms of opioid drug abuse, overdose and addiction, opioid drug abuse prevention and the administration of emergency treatment in response to overdosing.
