Course overview

The DSM-5-TR was released in March 2022, nine years after the release of DSM-5. Although the medical model is not the only model that mental health professionals work with, it is an important one. Standards within the mental health professions (e.g., graduate program accreditation standards. best practice guidelines, codes of ethics) and from outside of the professions (e.g., licensure boards, third party payers) encourage or require mental health professionals to have an updated understanding of the DSM. Clinicians and forensic evaluators are busy professionals. With a myriad of competing responsibilities, it's understandably challenging to put aside a little time to learn about changes in the DSM diagnostic system. This succinct, two-hour webinar was designed as a tool mental health professionals can use to get updated on important changes in the new edition.
