Course overview
Quality sleep is vital to a persons overall wellness. Unfortunately, insomnia is a widespread problem, and one with vast implications. Poor sleep can lead to deterioration of functioning across multiple domains, safety concerns, and an overall reduction in quality of life. In this course, you will learn about the risk factors for insomnia and the various ways that the condition can manifest. You will learn about evidence-based treatments, both pharmacological and non-pharmacological, that can enhance the quality and duration of sleep for the individuals you serve. The goal of this course is to provide addictions, behavioral health counseling, marriage and family therapy, nursing, psychology, and social work professionals in health and human services settings with skills for treating insomnia.
