Clostridioides difficile is the top cause of healthcare acquired infections in the US. Regional multidisciplinary collaboratives and antibiotic stewardship strategies have had some successes in reducing the incidence of C. difficile. Clinicians can benefit from this overview of evidence-based guidelines, new tools, and prescribing alternatives for their patients.
