Course overview

This course examines and explains the use of urinalysis for iodine levels as a way to prevent breast cancer, fibrocystic disease, thyroid problems, and heart arrythmias. Hai Zao seaweed, rich in iodine, has been safely used for many centuries in TCM to soften lumps and hardening of the breasts and has long been indicated for goiter, scrofula, tuberculosis of the lymph nodes, chronic bronchitis, hypotension, hypertension, and edema. Moreover, Asian women with high iodine intake have much lower rates of breast disease than American women. This course examines in depth the very real possibility of preventing breast disease in American women through appropriate iodine testing and supplementation.
