Course overview
A cerebral aneurysm is best described as a weakened part of a blood vessel in the brain that bulges outward. These aneurysms may be small and asymptomatic, or they can be large, cause warning signs that something is wrong, and then rupture, causing death or permanent disability. Caring for a patient with a ruptured cerebral aneurysm requires knowledge and diligence. Life-threatening complications can occur at any point during the patient's illness and require immediate action by the patient's care team. This course provides nurses with information about care of patients with cerebral aneurysm and subarachnoid hemorrhage and information about the latest treatments for the conditions and their complications.
