Risk Issues in Dermatology: Diagnosing Melanoma
Tracking # 20-845846
Course overview
Dermatology is a relatively low-risk specialty, but certain conditions and procedures can increase the risk for a malpractice claim. Delayed or missed diagnosis of melanoma is still a life-threatening risk to the patient and a common liability risk to the dermatologist. Data from medical malpractice claims, several review articles, and a clinical practice guideline suggest strategies for reducing this risk and improving diagnosis of melanoma.
