Pathology Risk and Claims
Tracking # 20-846836
Course overview
Pathologists are generally less likely to be sued than other physician-specialists. However, despite the low frequency of medical malpractice lawsuits brought against pathologists, pathology remains a high-risk specialty in terms of severity--he costs of claims. The average indemnity paid in pathology claims ranks in the top third of all medical specialties. This monograph explores some of the medical-legal risks encountered by pathologists and presents risk reduction strategies that will help increase patient safety while reducing pathologists' liability.
