Course overview

Improperly sterilized instruments have the potential to expose patients and healthcare staff to a variety of infectious diseases. Unfortunately, improper or inadequate instrument processing may go undetected until a serious consequence, such as an outbreak of infections, occurs. This activity will provide guidance to facility staff for situations when medical instruments are used in one area and the contaminated items are processed in a separate location.
