Course overview

This is an interprofessional workshop focused on the design and implementation of high-quality, defensible, psychometrically reliable, and valid OSCEs that can be used for teaching, learning, and for high-stakes assessment purposes. 1. Describe processes for developing reliable, valid, and psychometrically defensible OSCE stations 2. Discuss principles for effective case writing using structured case templates including global and analytical assessments 3. Utilize systematic review and validation processes to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of OSCE station content 4. Apply a priori standard-setting methods to establish defensible cut scores or pass-points for OSCE stations 5. Discuss principles for effective and sustainable implementation of OSCEs within academic programs
