Course overview

Learning happens through errors. This is true for any individual with a performance-related goal from the elite athlete to someone recovering from a stroke. Therapists integrate this process though interventions based on motor control and motor learning principles. The challenge comes with determining, for a given patient, what is the optimal dose of an intervention to maximize outcomes. If an intervention is too challenging, no learning will happen. If it is too simple, no learning will happen. This 60 minute audio-only course for intermediate and advanced learners will discuss the importance of errors in motor control and will model for the learners best practices to align the dose of therapy to maximize learning for a given patient presentation.
