Course overview
Physical and occupational therapy professionals play a key role in recommending and fitting patients with upper extremity orthoses. This course guides therapists through the process of recognizing patient characteristics that indicate the need for an orthosis, determining the ideal type, and ensuring proper fit and usage. The benefits and guidelines for use of static orthoses are presented. Static-progressive and dynamic orthoses are not discussed in detail in this course.
