Educational Objectives Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to: Objective 1: Understand the Latest Statistics and Trends, Where Florida Stands on Tobacco and Vaping Control Objective 2: The Latest Health Consequences Data Objective 3: Tackling the Vaping Epidemic: Resources, Advocacy and Education Presentation Description: Every year in the U.S., more than 480,000 people die from tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke, making it the leading cause of preventable death in this country. Additionally, the Surgeon General reports e-cigarette use among youth is a significant public health concern and steps must be taken by parents, educators and policymakers to discourage use of e-cigarettes.
