Course overview

Neurosurgeons shoulder the burden of high-risk exposure for professional liability claims. Analysis of claims can help neurosurgeons to improve patient safety and reduce liability risk. The top categories of allegations of neurosurgery claims are procedural error (also known as improper performance of a procedure), diagnostic errors, management of surgical patients, and wrong site/side/patient. Management of surgical patients and wrong site are discussed in part two of this series.
