A long standing problem in our culture, but one that is little changed over time, is child abuse. Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, Psychologists, Nurses, Teachers and other front line workers are typically the first to have contact with victims of this terrible problem. This course will provide useful information on assessment of the sufferer of abuse, effective treatment strategies, and prevention of its damaging effects. Sometimes, the truth of childhood abuse is not experienced or expressed in some disturbing way by its victims until years later, perhaps even many years after the abuse.
