Emergency Care for Zoomed (exotic) Pets: From Crisis to Success

Course overview

This online course provides an intensive lecture on a wide array of medicine and emergency critical care of zoomed (exotic) species, including mammals (rabbits, rodents, ferrets, hedgehogs, sugar gliders), birds (with focus on Psittacines) and reptiles (chelonians, snakes and lizards). It covers aspects of how to set up your practice, medical math, triage, clinical skills, sedation and analgesia, CPR guidelines, assessment and treatment of dehydration and hypovolemia, assessment and treatment of hypotension, common emergencial presentations of zoomed (exotic) species, among other important topics. The course is aimed at veterinarians and veterinary paraprofessionals (technician, assistant, nurse), as well as respective students with a keen interest in emergency and critical care of zoomed (exotic) species.
