Course overview

Welcome to part 3 of the acupuncture point combination series, which takes you on a journey through the Five Elements (Wu Xing). These elements are typically not taught thoroughly at Chinese medicine institutions (unless it is a Five Elements school) and so it became clear to me that I needed to write a course that could access as many students and practitioners of our art as possible. The Five Elements are a fascinating part of Chinese medicine and treatment. They were first mentioned in the Yellow Emperors Internal Classic (Huang Di Nei Jing) which was written over 2000 years ago. Since then they have been discussed fairly consistently, apart from some brief periods in Chinese medical history. That being said, only the Five Element schools scattered around the world, really immerse themselves in the elements. The rest of the international schools seem to touch on them, but not in any great detail. There is so much to learn about the Five Elements and this webinar series will include a brief overview of the elements, their four cycles, as well as their special point categories. This will be followed up with each of the four cycles being analysed individually. Within each of these cycles, each of the Five Elements are discussed, including clinical examples and acupuncture point combinations analysed. Multiple element imbalances are also discussed along with treatments, before the series ends with a presentation on how the Five Elements (Wu Xing) and Five Spirits (Wu Shen) can be used to regulate emotions, stress and mental health. Importantly, this webinar series gives you plenty of treatment tools to practically apply to each of the elements. These are acupuncture point combinations which are designed to treat emotions, stress and mental health. That's not all because there are also acupuncture point combinations for a range of different musculoskeletal disorders, sports injuries, sense organ complaints and internal organ disharmonies such as irritable bowel syndrome, heartburn, insomnia, angina and even Meniere's disease.
