Assessment and Evidence-Based Treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

By the end of this course learners will be able to:

1. Formulate questions and observations in assessment so that sufficient evidence can be gathered in order to validate a diagnosis of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
2. Describe a variety of obsessive and compulsive behaviors that may be seen in clinical and community practice.
3. Employ a psychoeducational strategy to inform patients about their condition and treatment in order to encourage patient compliance with treatment.
4. Construct treatment approaches with sufficient frequency of intervention consistent with evidence-based clinical guidelines.
