Course overview

Have you wondered why entrapment neuropathy patients do not get well and do not reach their functional goals? This course will provide information on ways to identify nerve compression injuries and differentiate the peripheral symptoms from central symptoms (central sensitization). Often treating the peripheral symptoms is not enough to improve outcome if the dysfunction reveals central sensitization. An overview of current evidence regarding the evaluation, treatment and management of peripheral and central symptoms called bottom up and topdown treatment will be reviewed and discussed. This workshop will guide the participant through a systematic clinical examination of the upper quadrant from cervical radicular symptoms to distal nerve entrapments. This course will be useful for beginning and experienced therapists as well as athletic trainers.
