Course overview

The purpose of this course is to provide the learner with information about domestic violence and elder abuse and neglect. OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this course, the learner will be able to: 1.State statistics relating to domestic violence. 2.Detail some of the characteristics of an abuser and the signs of physical, psychological, financial and sexual abuse, including marital rape. 3.Appropriately screen, assess and intervene in cases of suspected domestic violence. 4.Detail the magnitude of elder abuse and neglect. 5.Define the various types of elder abuse and neglect. 6.Assess and intervene in cases of suspected elder abuse.
