Course overview
This training will explore the link between intergenerational and current trauma to individuals and communities interfacing with social service systems. Participants will be introduced to the connection between developmental trauma and contemporary challenges African Americans face in the systems. We will explore our experiences, perceptions, beliefs, and behaviors that may challenge constructive relationship development. We will discuss practical, culturally intelligent, and trauma-responsive strategies to keep our work moving forward in mediation, pro-social activities, and services delivery.
