Course overview

This course provides 2.50 hours of continuing education for professionals, incorporating media-based video lectures, and lesson tests in curricular modules. This course addresses the five stages of team development and strategies for selecting high-performing team members most suited for collaboration. Additionally, the course covers the foundations for managing teams successfully, including how to set team goals, assign roles to individuals working on a team, and define specific guidelines for how team members should behave to minimize conflict and optimize teamwork. Course participants learn how to develop a team culture by establishing team member competencies and working to improve team dynamics. Course participants also learn methods to increase team participation, motivation, teamwork, and commitment. The course includes instruction on demonstrating team leadership by encouraging effective communication and overcoming communication problems, as well as the causes of conflict on a team and the role of healthy communication in handling conflict. Learners explore guidelines for resolving conflict that address a specific type of conflict: lack of trust. Finally, the course modules cover team leadership skills a cross-functional team leader should have, as well as best practices for the related teamwork.
