Course overview

Individuals who have experienced acquired brain injury can demonstrate a variety of challenging and maladaptive behaviors including impulsivity, aggression, depression, or apathy. These behaviors are even more pronounced if the individual has a prior diagnosis of a mental health disorder. Rehabilitation therapists must be well versed in modifying their patient interactions, treatment approaches, and plans of care to best accommodate the patient's needs for optimal outcomes. This podcast-style course discusses best practices in identifying and managing common maladaptive behaviors in patients post-traumatic brain injury (TBI).
