Fine needle aspiration (FNA) and core biopsies play a significant role in diagnosis of neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs), preoperatively, guiding further management. The consensus conference held at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) intended to provide organ-specific classification of NENs. This webinar walks through the current classification of NENs of the lung and the challenges in cytology and small biopsies. Additionally, a brief discussion on new potential diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers of NENs.
