Students will learn about multiple functions and tasks of clinical supervision; supervisor-supervisee competencies; review and understand the Code of Ethics for clinical supervision; recognize clinical supervision standards and expectations; promote a spirit of learning and personal development; know how to resolve tension, discomfort, and conflict; understand the roles of the clinical supervisor in the context of the supervisory relationship which include: teacher, consultant, coach, and mentor; and understand the most prevalent issues relevant for supervisees working primarily with substance abuse populations.
