INFUSION THERAPY MANAGEMENT

Course overview

This class is geared towards LPNS who need education in the practice of IV management and care. During this class, the nurse will be provided with thorough online training. This class prepares participants for initiating and/or maintaining common intravenous therapies. Course topics will include review of vein anatomy and physiology, indications for IV therapy, infection control, nursing management and equipment complications. Nursing assessment, documentation and common IV drugs will be discussed. Care of central lines and central line dressings will also be covered. Upon completion of this class, nurses will earn a certificate in IV management and care.
