Using Clinical Examples to Appreciate the Practice of Safe and Effective Opioid Analgesic Prescribing

Course overview

This presentation will allow the participant to use the foundational tools presented in the first presentation to build on their skill set through clinical exercises to incorporate their understanding of prescribing laws, best practice guidelines and tools to help them to prescribe opioids in such a manner as to mitigate opioid harm as well as avoid opioid use disorders. Further, the participant will be exposed to clinical examples in the literature to build a toolbox to mitigate opioid harm and recognize opioid misuse and abuse.
