Course overview
The MOMA 2021 Annual Coast Conference is designed to offer 31 AOA Category 1-A CME credits with a focus on primary care physicians. The primary purpose is to provide training enhancements that will provide workplace enhancements and improve physician outcomes relative to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of major disease states in Mississippi and adjacent regions of the mid-south. Epidemiological studies that assess health states and needs have identified the regional population as one of extremely high incidence of chronic Hypertension, Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, and Obesity. Thus, the overall conference objective is to equip physicians with a current working knowledge of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment protocols relevant to such major disease states and their co-morbidities. Additionally, other clinical and non-clinical topics related to licensure, changing medical education requirements, and the business of medicine are offered. The overall objective (purpose) of the clinical portion of the CME conference is to equip the learner physician with current knowledge for patient education on disease prevention and management and on advances in diagnostic and treatment techniques such that he/she will be able to: (1) describe and integrate current diagnostic trends and interventional preventive and treatment plans for all conditions/diseases addressed during this convention; (2) describe current relevant research, compare and describe the chemistry and pharmacology of appropriate drugs, and; (3) develop and employ enhanced strategies for improving patient compliance with prevention and treatment regimens. Included in the agenda (on Saturday) are Florida Mandatory CME topics required for each re-licensure. Saturday topics are included in full registration for the entire CME meeting. Registration is available for Saturday-only for those who only need to attend required CME topics for Florida re-licensure. Domestic violence will be offered as a program component on Saturday.
