Course overview
This course examines barriers, disparities, and facilitators for adolescent retention in substance abuse treatment. The authors interviewed 19 providers in Massachusetts with an aver clinical experience of 11 years using the TCU treatment process model. It includes family, client, facility, and policy/system barriers; family, client, facility, and policy/system facilitators; racial and ethnic disparities. It also highlights substance treatment reimbursement programs in Massachusetts that facilitate retention which could be used in other states.
