Tracking # 20-930321
Course overview
Pregnancy and complications related to the patient and fetus require a thorough understanding of pregnancy and pathophysiology. Pregnancy-related complications carry a high morbidity and mortality rate for the patient and fetus. In addition, trauma in the setting of pregnancy poses its unique challenges. Critical care transport providers (CCTPs) care for patients in all stages of pregnancy. In this course, you will learn a general overview of pregnancy and the complications associated with it. Furthermore, you will learn some critical complications for the intrapartum and post-partum period and their potential adverse effects on the fetus. The goal of this course is to refresh CCTP nurses preparing for the certified transport registered nurse/certified flight registered nurse (CTRN/CFRN) certification exam on the principles of trauma management in transport nursing.
