This talk will describe the epidemiology of the most common treatable sexually transmitted infections (STI) and provide insights into the application of advancing diagnostic technologies to improve access to, and utilization of, services that can have a population level impact on reducing the burden of these diseases. The attendee will be able to: Identify the most common STIs and understand the recommendations for screening and diagnostic testing. Plan for adoption of non-clinic based sample collection for STI testing. Identify the role of laboratories in implementation point-of-care and over-the-counter.
