Course overview

Inpatient nursing care is not the same as ambulatory care. When nurses transition into an ambulatory environment, some key concepts can help one understand the characteristic background and needs of the ambulatory field. Specific preceptor strategies can facilitate successful transitions into ambulatory care by providing individualized learning and adequate support throughout the transition process. The goal of this course is to provide information about the differences between acute and ambulatory care settings and how to achieve a successful transition from the acute care setting to ambulatory care.
