AD 570: Helping Children with Executive Functioning

Course overview

This online course provides on in-depth review and study of children with executive functioning difficulties. Students will learn the developmental foundation of executive functioning and the difficulties ADHD children and young adults experience when planning, organizing, controlling impulses, and initiating tasks. Progression in the course focuses on helping ADHD individuals apply strategies and ways to build skills needed for success. This course offers practical strategies and interventions for professionals working with ADHD children and young adults. An exploration of ways to help children control impulses, make transitions, handle frustrations, start homework and other tasks, handle working memory issues, plan and organize, and monitor their behavior will be discussed in this course.
