Course overview

Dizziness and balance disorders are a common condition encountered in the orthopedic rehabilitation settings. Research shows that over 50% of older adults are affected by dizziness/balance disorders. The recognition of how orthopedic dysfunction may contribute to dizziness/balance issues is an evolving body of knowledge. This course will provide a diverse range of information to the practicing clinician to help them identify and treat the potential orthopedic contributions to these impairments. This course will improve the knowledge of orthopedic contributions to dizziness/balance fall risks. Also covered will be differential diagnosis, evidence-based testing, and optimal exercise selection/progression strategies to facilitate the patients improved function. At the conclusion of the course, the clinician will obtain clinically applicable strategies to manage the full spectrum of patients presenting with dizziness/balance deficits.
