This training from 12:00 p.m.-1:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, is a general overview of abuse in later life that builds on the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault. The objectives are to recognize the dynamics of domestic violence and family violence in the context of older persons; to identify myths/assumptions that can distract from accurate assessment or effective case planning in domestic violence cases; to identify key principles and best practices; to gain knowledge and practice safety-planning and to increase awareness of domestic violence programming and resources. The free virtual training is presented by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network, Stark County Adult Protective Services Interdisciplinary Team in conjunction with the Stark County Domestic Violence Collaborative..
