CDCES: Assessment of the Diabetes Continuum

Course overview

This course will aid clinicians in caring for patients with diabetes. Clinicians will learn how to assess the learning readiness of persons with diabetes to identify gaps in knowledge and provide correct diabetes education. A large part of this knowledge involves the assessment of essential health care behaviors, psychosocial factors, knowledge of self-management, and concepts surrounding nutrition and exercise. The goal of this course is to explain how to assess the knowledge base of people with diabetes and teach essential topics related to the disease process.
