Synergetic Structural Integration - 150 CE hours Description Structural Integration is a form of myofascial therapy that teaches participants to safely release fascial and muscular tension in the body in a 10-session format. The 10 sessions I devised are inspired by the fascial work of Dr. Ida P. Rolf and the vibrational bodywork of Milton Trager in lecture and hands-on demonstrations. This style of work teaches massage therapists how to conserve energy, use of safe body mechanics, teaches strategies based of individual assessments. Functional movement assessments are used to determine postural alignment and misalignment and movement function and dysfunction of the body as we work with the fascial system. Restrictions in the soft tissue are addressed with hands-on techniques by the therapist in synergy with active movement by the client. Students will watch, give and receive Synergetic Structural Integration - SSI session 1-10. Anatomy, body-mechanics, methodology and philosophy are taught issessments, and is within the scope of practice for massage therapists. Synergetic Structural Integration 10 sessions Session 1 - The Front Body Session 2 - The Back Body Session 3 - The Side Body Session 4 - Lower core- Inner-Outer legs, abdominals, front and side hips, QL and psoas-iliacus Session 5 - Upper core; Abdominals, chest and shoulder girdle. Magnus Eklund holds the following qualifications BCSI - Board Certified Structural Integration by the certification board of S.I. LMT since 1994 - MS LMT 144, AL4348 KMI structural Integrator by Kinesis Myofascial Integration - 500 hours with Tom Myers Advanced structural integration practitioner - The advanced 5 series and the 10 series of The Guild inspired by the work of Dr. Ida Rolf, Emmett Hutchins and Peter Melchior. ISSA - Certified Fitness Trainer Graduate of Lillsved Sport College in Stockholm Sweden This 150-hour program has a 50-hour pre-requisite of Synergetic Myofascial Therapy courses currently approved by NCBTMB, FL, AL, MS and LA. I am choosing to go through the NCBTMB in teaching a structural integration program because I believe it should not be separate from the field of massage therapy, but a part of it. I am aware of the US trademark associated with the work of Dr. Ida Rolf, however structural integration has been a known modality in our profession since her death and cannot be trademarked. Neither can the use of the last name Rolf in describing the work that has inspired many of us. SSI has many other influences that I call accessory techniques such as vibrational bodywork, Fascial stretching techniques, Joint ROM techniques and Functional Movements.
