Course overview

Participants will be able to describe a historical understanding of addiction as a biological, psychological, emotional, and social concern, will be able to describe what is a process addiction and how the current model of addiction can be applied to behaviors besides drugs, will be able to describe the ethics of change, will be able to name the Stages of Change model and describe its usefulness in addiction treatment, and will be able to name evidence-based treatment models that can be applied to people suffering with addictive behaviors.
