Course overview
Antibiotics can be a natural or synthetic substance that destroys microorganisms or inhibits their growth. Their use is extensive not only in the United States but throughout the world. The more knowledge the care team has of antibiotic therapy the more effective the therapy can be for the resident. This course will discuss the importance of having a basic understanding of antibiotics, the common diseases treated by antibiotics, how antibiotics work, the importance of following physician orders as well as the side effects associated with antibiotics.
