Course overview

Description: When LGBTQ+ youth can live their authentic lives they are more likely to attend school and be academically successful. However, harassment, prejudice, and discrimination in schools and home can lead to a higher risk of self-harm, substance use, and homelessness. Family acceptance, appropriate support services, and compassionate allies become protective factors for LGBTQ+ youth. This session will teach evidence-based strategies to build support and resiliency among our students.
