Course overview
In veterinary medicine, standards of care are guidelines typically created to define standard protocols or treatment plans on appropriate treatment for different stages in a pet's life for commonly seen illnesses or diseases. They are a set of guidelines that define the proper treatment for a particular health issue or disease at your practice. In other words, standards of care define what is medically appropriate for your patients according to your best practices, evidence-based medicine, and patient outcomes to ensure the delivery of high-quality client and patient care. Standards of care can be specific or general depending on practice needs and they tend to vary from practice to practice. Proven processes are a five-step or less outline of how to complete a task. Processes are instrumental and vital to upholding standards of care in a veterinary practice. In this webinar, we will discuss standards of care and how proven processes will support those standards.
