Podcast: Patient Engagement & Self-Efficacy: Key To Outcomes

Course overview

In this one-hour podcast course we will do a deep dive into the value of patient engagement and self-efficacy and how we need to change our practice and mindsets to achieve optimal engagement. We are with our patient for a limited time for each treatment session. The patient is responsible for implementing our recommendations and interventions the other 23 hours of the day. We all know that patient engagement is key to achieving the best outcomes, but what are the most effective ways to engage our patients? Here we will explore engagement models and strategies including motivational interviewing, the enhanced medical rehabilitation model, and simple changes like sharing patients' results on standardized tests. We will discuss how to integrate key concepts from the evidence into how we talk with our patients and create interventions that result in better patient outcomes and maybe even better satisfaction for clinicians.
