Maintenance therapy is a valuable tool to ensure patients are provided with medically necessary skilled intervention to maintain current functional abilities and prevent a decline. This course provides clinicians with a baseline knowledge of what maintenance therapy is and its coverage status under Medicare Part B, and it describes the role of both therapist and assistant in establishing and administering maintenance therapy in the outpatient setting. This course provides learners with several case examples modeling effective teamwork between therapists and therapy assistants to identify patients appropriate for maintenance therapy, provide effective interventions, and complete accurate documentation to ensure optimal patient outcomes and reimbursement for services.
