Everyone is affected by sexual violence. Every 68 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. One in every six American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. This multimedia video course describes those at risk for sexual assault as well as the legal requirements of health care professionals in identifying and reporting of assaults. The course details the responsibilities, scope and techniques for evidence collection. The rape kit is carefully reviewed as are the steps for evidence collection. Lots of important information is packed into this two hour course. It is perfect for licensed health care providers who are required to assess and care for individuals who have been sexually assaulted but who are not credentialed as Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE).
