Evaluation and Treatment of Common Finger/Thumb Impairments

Course overview

In this module, physical and occupational therapy professionals will learn to distinguish between common tendon, nerve, and joint injuries affecting the hand. These include de Quervain's tenosynovitis, trigger finger, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, arthritis, and Dupuytren's disease. Through a series of case studies, learners will recognize key examination findings and determine evidence-based treatment approaches for each condition. Considerations for ongoing assessment and expected progress are discussed.
