Although estimates vary depending upon the methodology used to assess pain, it is estimated that chronic pain affects 50 million U.S. adults and 19.6 million of those adults experience high-impact chronic pain that interferes with daily life or work activities. How can we help our patients eliminate, or at the very least, decrease their chronic pain? Let Dr. Aditi Mehra, DHS, OTR/L teach us therapeutic interventions for pain management. Dr. Mehra will cover: -Cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial factors that affect pain -The main neuroscience concepts important for patient education -How to label the key elements of assessment and intervention for pain management in healthcare -Explain restorative therapy approaches to pain management -Identify the behavioral approaches to pain management
