Healthy People 2030: Health Promotion and Disease Prevention
Tracking # 20-890334
Course overview
Each decade since the year 1990, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has published a Healthy People (HP) initiative that prioritizes health problems and disparities in the U.S. and sets targets for improvement (Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion [OPDPHP], n.d.-a). A customized plan for improving health and wellness can be developed and adopted by organizations based on individual areas of greatest impact and interest. Targets for objectives provide goals for improvements. The goal of this course is to educate nurses, dieticians, and respiratory therapy professionals about HP2030 and ways individuals and organizations can use HP2030 objectives to improve health and well-being.
