Course overview

Our codes of ethics provide guidelines for navigating ethical dilemmas that may arise however certain ethical situations will arise for professionals who work in the community. For example, accepting gifts, setting boundaries with families to conduct counseling within the home, or observing illegal activities are a few examples of ethical dilemmas. This presentation will walk counselors through common ethical dilemmas and apply ethical decision-making models useful in this setting.
