Course overview

This Advanced Certification in Veterinary Western Herbal Medicine course is designed for veterinarians who have already undertaken either the CIVT Certification Veterinary Western Herbal Medicine or a similar course through a recognized herbal school or can demonstrate their experience in Western herbal medicine. The focus of this course is on the Materia Medica from a veterinary perspective and on therapeutics for veterinary conditions at an advanced level. The course is taken over 12 months at your own pace. Western herbal medicine for complaints of the major body systems is covered through examination of both traditional and evidence-based Materia Medica. The Materia Medica covers the actions, indications, constituents and contraindications of herbs and enables the student to develop a working comprehension of the herbs in relation to the different body systems and to become both competent and confident in the use of these herbs for a wide variety of disease states. A minimum of 100 herbs is covered during these modules.
