Balance Interventions: Evidence-Based Treatment for the Post-Acute Care Setting
Tracking # 20-893370
Course overview
Physical therapists play a key role in fall risk management by identifying a patient's balance impairments and prescribing targeted interventions at the appropriate intensity, frequency, and duration to achieve optimal outcomes. This course reviews best practices in the interpretation of standardized outcome measures for standing balance impairments and models how to use that information to guide evidence-based interventions. Intensity, frequency, and duration of interventions will be highlighted. The patient's roles and responsibilities to participate and own their fall risk management to achieve the best outcomes will also be discussed.
